When we were getting ready to sell our house last winter, we interviewed several designers and chose Susan Utley to stage it. She had the freshest ideas and an unerring sense of how to use our furniture and artwork, incorporating several other pieces to showcase our home. Selecting lovely neutral colors for the walls and woodwork, she then added style and color with beautiful area rugs, throw pillows, and clever placement of our folk art pieces. She was a pleasure to work with—she listened to our ideas, had a wonderful sense of humor, and worked tirelessly to get the house ready for the open house. The final product was described in the realtor’s listing as a “sophisticated, whimsical gem”—it was that, but it was also a home in which anyone would feel comfortable. In the end, it was the staging that sold our home; the buyers loved how the art was displayed throughout the house.

Susan has excellent taste. She is very thoughtful and listens to her client's desires and creates a vision that they fall in love with.

Susan has a unique way of showing clients what their vision will look like with actual samples and three-dimensional renderings so that the client can make changes without incurring cost or a schedule impact.

Because of her extensive knowledge of the industry, she offers choices of products and fabrics, helping clients weigh the pros and cons. She provides a budget impact of the choices so that client can stay within bounds they have set.
